Meet The board leadership

Valerie Thomas-White is a Licensed Masters Social Worker with over 32 years of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and family units.  Valerie has worked in the community providing Behavioral Health Counseling to groups, and individuals. At present Valerie works with the Louisiana Department of Health HIV/STD section as a Linkage to Care Coordinator. In her current role Valerie is responsible for educating and linking individuals diagnosed with HIV into medical care. Valerie is passionate about educating the community on HIV and how to possibly stop the spread of HIV. Valerie is also employed with Let’s Talk Therapy and Counseling in Shreveport, La, she provides psychotherapy for children and adults. Valerie is owner and operator of White’s Open Arms Consulting and Counseling also located in Shreveport. Valerie has been married to the Love of her Life Eric White for over 20 years. They are a house definitely divided, but share 1 love for each other and community service.

Valerie received her Bachelors and Master degrees in Social Work from Grambling State University. Her area of concentration for her Master’s thesis was Families and Individuals. She is a member of The National Association of Social Workers both locally and nationally.  She is also a member of the National Association of Black Social Workers, Shreveport Chapter.

Valerie is active in the community, she is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Delta Lambda Omega Chapter where she serves as the Member at Large to the Executive Committee.  Valerie has served the sorority on numerous committees. The Sorority’s focus is “service to All Mankind”. She is very active in her sorority and passionate about the platform to serve the community. Valerie has been an active member of Mt Canaan Baptist Church for over 20 years. As a member of Mt Canaan Valerie has served in several ministries as the leader.

Valerie serves as a board member on several non-profit boards. President-elect for YWCA,(current,2024) Vice President for YWCA of North West La(2022-2023), President elect ICCS(current,2024) Vice President for Ivy Crown Community Services, Inc,(2022-2023) trustee board member for Magnolia Charter School,(2020-current) President National PanHellenic Council(current 2024), Vice President, of the National PanHellenic Council, Shreveport chapter(2022-2023), board member for the Krewe of Sobek,(2020-current) board member for The Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Shreveport, La.(2023-current)

LeShonda M. Lindsey currently serves as a Project Manager at LSU Health Shreveport.  She is active in her community and volunteers with her church, the NW LA Chapter of the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America, and the City of Shreveport’s Paint Your Heart Out.  LeShonda is a member of Delta Lambda Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. with over 25 years of active service, where she has held numerous positions, including Chapter President.  She has faithfully served on the local, regional, and national levels of the sorority.  

Susan Brown, DNP, PMHNP, FNP-BC, Director of Ivy  Crown Community Services. Susan also serves as financial secretary of the C. Wright Pink Ribbon Project and is a past member of the Red River Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. She is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, International Society of Nurses. She is a 20+ year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.

Director Miranda Small is employed with Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino Shreveport as the Convention Services Manager with 15 + years of experience in delivering operational solutions that create immediate impact and contribute to long-term success in diversified organizations.  Miranda Small is the proud mother of Mathis Chandler Morris, her “GREATEST” blessing! Miranda Small, has served as the 2017 South Central Regional Conference Co-Chairman; 2016-2020, South Central Regional Conference Planner/Transportation Chairman; and 2012-2016, South Central Regional Logistics Chairman.  Miranda Small, has received notability in Small Business Meetings magazine “White Glove Service” Etiquette with Shreveport Convention Center (Fall Edition 2011).  Miranda Small, would like to further her professional and certified career as she endeavors.  Miranda served as chair of Brunchella '23 which as a stellar success.

Rosalind is a retired Manager of BellSouth and AT&T Telecommunications. She is also a retired educator of Caddo Parish Schools. She currently serves as a member of the Trustee Board of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church. She is executive director of the Northwest Louisiana Sickle Cell Disease Association. Rosalind served as President of American Business Women’s Association, Captain Shreve Chapter. She is a 53-year member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc, and has served as President of Delta Lambda Omega Chapter. She is a founding member of Ivy Crown Community Services.

Director Dorsey is a graduate of Grambling State University and is employed with Caddo Parish Public Schools as a Transportation Supervisor. She has been an active part Ivy Crown Community Services, Incorporated since 2020. Director Dorsey has served in the capacity of Nominating Committee Chairman, Annual Meeting Co-chairman, Jazz Brunch Committee Co-chairman and former Assistant Secretary. She is also a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Delta Lambda Omega Chapter and serves on the board of directors for Through Clifford’s Eyes Family Foundation. D’Andrea is member of Stoner Hill Baptist Church. She is married and has two children.

Director Ramona Murphy Waller is a Business professional with thirty-plus (30+) years of incalculable experience in Human resources, recruitment, accounting, payroll, and telecommunication.  Her skills and talents are being utilized throughout the community in which we live at Delta Lambda Omega of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. - President; Ivy Crown Community services, immediate past president. She is a founding member of Ivy Crown services.  She also serves as her church as secretary/treasurer.

Director Murphy is an analytical thinker who promotes diversity and is always ready to assist a person in need.  "Providing Infinite Service to men, women, and children in need." is her life's motto.

Retired Educator and Deputy Director/Superintendent of Parks and Recreation and serves as Lay Leader and Certified Lay Speaker of St. Paul United Methodist Church. Myers has demonstrated her love and concern for volunteerism and community service through multiple philanthropic efforts including founding president and incorporator of Ivy Crown Community Services Foundation. She coordinates the Reading Is Fundamental Project.

Ms. Evelyn H. Valore is a retired Educator/Consultant.  She is a 50+ yr. Member and Life Member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority; Her other roles include Past President, Regional Officer, Former Cluster Coordinator, and a founding board member of Ivy Crown Community Services. 

Retired CEO of Shreveport Federal Credit Union and Sr. Pastor of the Greater ProVision Christian Church.  Helen also serves as the Finance Committee Chair for the Board of the North Caddo Medical Center and as Legal Committee Chair for the Caddo Levee Board of Trustees.  She served as Chair of the Shreveport Chamber of Commerce in 2014.  She is a 50 yr. Member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority and a founding board member of Ivy Crown Community Services.
